Activity: Come and discover where history meets mystery! Learn the hidden secrets of Fort Monroe’s rich 400 year history during our guided ghost walks. We have new stories and a brand new route this year within the Inner Fort. We’ll share stories about some of our private homes, the Chapel of the Centurion as well as some recent unexplained experiences. Tickets will go on sale by phone orders only on Monday, September 24th at 10 am. Call 757 637-7778 to purchase tickets. Tours begin every 15 minutes from 6:15 to 9:15 pm and will last approximately 45 minutes to one hour. Date: Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Registration required. Registration begins at 10am on Thursday, October 10.
Activity: Does Grissom Library have a ghost roaming in their stacks? Find out as we learn about ghost hunting with the Virginia Paranormal Investigations team. Participants will learn about the basics of ghost hunting, before performing a mini paranormal investigation here in the branch. For ages 12 and up. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Carnival Cult at Hunter House Museum

Activity: A Victorian carnival comes to the Hunter House, bringing song, puppetry, dance, sirens, and oracles, but...something is not right, and the ringleader becomes increasingly wicked. Revelry turns to unease, as fear oozes from the performers. When the twisted nature of this cultish gathering is revealed, it is you who may be to blame...Featuring classical vocalist Rebecca Evans, local history buff Joshua Weinstein, and other special guests.

Date: Friday, October 25, 2019 with tours leaving each hour between 7-9pm
Cost: $10 per person. Children under 5 are free.
Activity: Based on the Jack-the-Ripper Walks in London, participants in the annual Olde Towne GhostWalk will be treated to some of the most haunting stories of Portsmouth’s past. Guides take spectators on a walk past haunted houses and mansions of Olde Towne, a 20-square block, 500 building area on the National Register of Historic Places. At each house on the tour, actors in appropriate costume will retell the legends of ghostly visitations and things that go bump in the night. Cameras are welcome. Houses are private properties and not open to the public. This event takes place rain or shine.

Activity: A hair-raising encounter with the spirited side of Suffolk. Follow a costumed guide through the shadows of historic Main Street discovering stories, legends and "unexplained occurrences" by lantern light. Historic Haunt Night at Bacon's Castle

Address: Bacon's Castle, 465 Bacons Castle Trl, Surry VA 
Saturdays, October 12 & 26, 2019. Haunted tours begin at 7:30 p.m. and will run every 30 minutes. The last tour begins at 10:30 p.m. Each tour is capped at 16 people. Children must be 12 years or older.
